FIFTY GAMES.
That’s a lot of basketball, and it’s all getting piped straight into your eyeballs on national television today.
The women’s games on national TV today are highlighted by the semifinals in the Atlantic 10, the ACC, the Big Ten, and the SEC. What’s not to like about eight elimination games on TV today??
Over on the men’s side, there’s the semifinals in the Missouri Valley Conference and the Summit League along with the title game out of the Ohio Valley Conference. I’m putting this together
on Friday, so right now as I type, we don’t know who is facing Tennessee State, but it’ll be somebody at 8pm Central time on ESPN2.
In addition to those knockout games, we have two games with two ranked teams squaring off against each other. There’s #24 Vanderbilt going out east to face #23 Tennessee, and then #17 North Carolina heading to Cameron Indoor to tangle with #1 Duke. There’s also #2 Arizona, #4 UConn, #5 Florida, #7 Houston, #10 Texas Tech, #20 Arkansas, and #25 Saint Louis going on the road against unranked opponents. There’s varying degrees of competition level here — say, for example, Marquette’s chances against UConn are not great — but ranked team on the road always carries a chance for fun for the neutral viewer.
There’s a ton of stuff out there that’s streaming only today, including the Big East women’s basketball quarterfinals on Peacock. Marquette faces off with Creighton there at 1:30pm Central, give or take, given the nature of waiting for the previous game to end. If you find yourself watching something awesome, be sure to pipe up in the comments for everyone to see and go turn the game on for themselves!
Here’s the full national television schedule for the day, with all times Central, as always.
