Sometimes, things can go very quickly. A week ago against Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga, every player Bayern Munich bar Jamal Musiala was fit to play (though Luis Díaz also missed out through suspension).
In the week since ahead of Bayern’s final match of the year against FC Heidenheim in the Bundesliga, Manuel Neuer picked up a hamstring injury, Michael Olise has had to undergo eye surgery (though he has fortunately since recovered), Joshua Kimmich has struggled with a recurring ankle issue, Sacha Boey has fallen ill again, Laimer picked up a suspension and Nicholas Jackson had to depart for international duty with Senegal.
But the list of absentees does not stop there. According to Tz reporter Philipp Kessler, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, center back Kim Min-Jae will also miss the Bavarians’ final fixture of the year through rather unusual circumstances:
Kim Min-jae is also out of tomorrow’s game against Heidenheim with teeth and muscle problems.
What teeth problems does the poor guy have? Regardless, he will hopefully get better soon. This latest injury means Bayern have lost the availability of a grand total of 6 players in the span of a week, 4 of which to injuries or illnesses. What is the lesson here?
That a week to prepare for a match is too much?
Or perhaps that the winter break is sorely needed. Yeah, that makes more sense.
