Bayern taking a look at Konaté (The Boot Room)
Liverpool center-back Ibrahima Konaté has been rumored to be on the radar of Real Madrid, but Bayern Munich could swoop in to show some interest:
TBR Football understands that Liverpool believe a number of their Premier League rivals are showing an interest in Ibrahima Konate – as they remain intent on trying to re-sign the French star. After an indifferent couple of games to open the season, Konate has found his feet in Arne Slot’s tweaked system and has been outstanding in recent games as the club
have enjoyed a perfect start to the new campaign – winning every game to this point.
We already know that Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are both keen on Konate, as they seek to bolster their central defensive options. Sources have informed TBR Football that intermediaries are doing their work and making the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City aware that Konate could be available for nothing next summer.
Liverpool understand that Konate himself is not pushing himself to any club, but agents and intermediaries are going to be doing their jobs and looking at options for him.
Chief correspondent Graeme Bailey exclusively revealed to TBR Football that while Liverpool remain confident of extending Konate’s deal, they are expecting significant interest in his signature. Bailey explained: “The ideal scenario for Liverpool is a new contract for Konate and signing Guehi on a free, but this is football and obviously neither could happen.
“Richard Hughes, though, has gone head-to-head with Europe’s finest this summer, bringing in the likes of Isak, Kerkez and Ekitike – Liverpool fear nobody, both on the pitch or off it. But with Konate, they are aware that it is not just the likes of Madrid and Munich who could try and make him an offer, but they accept that – why wouldn’t someone like Chelsea make an offer if he is available on a free? Although clearly they hope it does not get to that point.”
Konaté is not a name we have heard much lately, but Bayern Munich did have some interest in him long ago when he was a member of RB Leipzig. If Upamecano leaves, maybe Konaté is a name to watch, but it seems like he could be headed to Real Madrid.

City keeping close eye on Olise (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
Manchester City might be planning to make a serious run at Bayern Munich star Michael Olise next summer:
I think on the island, they see what a big player Michael Olise is. When Bayern Munich triggered his release clause at Crystal Palace, there was just Newcastle involved in the poker with Bayern Munich, so they could make it work. I think if, at that point, Liverpool or City had also been at the table, it would have been really more complicated. But now they see what a player he could be. At Bayern Munich, he’s the player of the year, based on early performances. I talked with Thomas Müller about him, and he said he’s the new leader in the team. He’s not talking a lot, but he’s always showing, “Give me the ball and I will make something special”. And now, yes, teams like Liverpool, and I heard also Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are watching him very, very closely. And because Bayern bought the player for €60m [£52.3m] from Crystal Palace, if an interested party pays a price over the €100m [£87.2m] mark – Bayern Munich have to think about it. But they want to keep him, and now they’re trying to give him a new contract so that they don’t lose him.
Olise has not given any indication that he wants to leave, but his loyalty could be tested if Manchester City offers to, say, double his €13.5 million salary.

He has got off to a fine start to the Bundesliga season, having most recently netted against Mainz on Saturday in a 2-0 away win.

- Is it possible that Harry Kane will stay at Bayern Munich? He is not dismissing the possibility.
- Yes! We avoided a #BayernKaren situation. We are rejoicing this in Philadelphia.
- Tying up some loose ends — let’s check in on Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman, João Palhinha, Paul Wanner, Mathys Tel, and Adam Aznou.

LFC, United vying for Branthwaite (ESPN)
Liverpool and Manchester United could be battling it out for Everton center-back Jarrad Branthwaite:
Liverpool are set to rival Manchester United for center back Jarrad Branthwaite, the Sunday Mirror reports. The Everton man is a longtime target for United, who were linked with a move in the summer of 2025. However, with Liverpool having missed out on signing Marc Guéhi last month, the Reds could decide to pursue a move for Branthwaite instead. Everton haven’t given up on the idea of retaining the 23-year-old, who is under contract at the club until 2030. As per the report, United may “test the waters” with a £65 million offer for the player in January.
