good morning everyone –
We did it. Football is BACK! After the longest three weeks of our lives, we will be watching Premier League football again this weekend.
The big game is obviously Man United vs Spurs on Saturday, but there’s lots of other fun games out there. Sunderland-Brighton could be a good warmup act for our viewing schedule, and Hull-Everton could be a sneaky fun one to watch Sunday.
There’s no Premier League football on Friday, unfortunately, but we have the Championship.
And if you want
to watch Championship football, you might want to tune into West Ham vs QPR. These two clubs haven’t played against each other since January 2026.
But if we’re taking the FA Cup out of the equation, it’s been much longer than that. The last time these two sides met in the league was 2015. Now with West Ham having been relegated last year, Friday’s game is the first of two they’ll play this season.
There are a few other Championship games that I think deserve some attention:
- Middlesbrough vs Wolves
- Sheffield United vs Lincoln
- West Brom vs Birmingham
We also have a full slate of League One and League Two football now, with Bradford City vs Leyton Orient being the one your hoddler-in-chief is most interested in watching.
There is just so much football to watch this weekend. Finally, finally football is back.
