FanDuel Odds & Thoughts
New Mexico/Minnesota: +3.5 New Mexico, O/U 47.5
- FanDuel gives a slight edge to the Golden Gophers, but also gives a certain degree of respect to the Lobos for the success they’ve had this season.
The Lobos have been the best story of the Mountain West this season. Jason Eck has this team believing they can compete against anyone and game-planning extremely well. They held their own against Michigan to start the season and beat UCLA. Despite being in the same conference as both those teams, the Gold Gophers haven’t played either of those teams.
New Mexico is good but not great on both sides of the ball, which in some ways makes them more difficult to prepare for. Minnesota is somewhat similar, but is definitely a stronger defensive team that doesn’t put up a ton of points on offense.
The Lobos are playing some of their best football of the season and are currently on a six-game win streak. The coaching staff has shown this season that they can put together strong game plans when given time to prepare, and they should be more than ready to play in this game and end their season on a high note.
