Aaron Rodgers is officially back with the Pittsburgh Steelers after leading them to an AFC North title in 2025. This year will mark his 22nd season in the NFL as he looks to put a bow on his storied career with a memorable 2026 campaign.
While Rodgers is the unquestioned starter this season, the Steelers have a pair of young signal-callers on their roster of whom they hope one will be their next franchise quarterback. Will Howard is entering his second season with the organization, while Drew Allar
is going into Year One after being drafted in the third round out of Penn State this past April. And while Rodgers is focused on winning, he is embracing being a mentor to Allar, and continuing to help Howard.
“It’s not in my job description, but it’s a great opportunity, for sure,” Rodgers said about being a mentor via Alan Saunders. “I’ll mentor Drew as much as he wants me to and I’ll continue to stay on Will.”
The Steelers currently have four quarterbacks on their roster, with Mason Rudolph rounding out the room. They will have a decision to make on who they will keep on their final 53-man roster.
