Lifetime contracts aren’t really a thing in football, but there are certainly players that would be worthy of them at Bayern Munich. With how well he has performed ever since joining from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024, one would be hard pressed to find many Bayern fans that didn’t want Michael Olise to stay at the club for as long as possible. He’s tallied a thoroughly impressive 26 goals and 29 assists from a total of 67 appearances across all competitions ever since he’s been a Bayern player and has quite
arguably been one of the most underrated signings across the top five European leagues within the past couple of seasons – he has added so much spark, life, and creativity to what was an already impressive Bayern attacking line.
Reports circulated recently that pointed out Olise does not have a release clause in his contract with the German Rekordmeister, which is currently set to run through June 2029 — a sigh of relief for Vincent Kompany and Bayern fans across the globe. Per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano speaking on his Here We Go podcast (via @iMiaSanMia), Bayern are making it very clear that there is not a release clause in Olise’s contract, sending a statement to all of the clubs that are interested in trying to sign him across Europe’s top five leagues.
Per Romano, Bayern is remaining increasingly relaxed with Olise’s situation, as he is more than happy with the club and in being in Munich. Additionally, within the hierarchy of the club, he is seen as one of the club’s “untouchable” players within the squad; there’s absolutely no question as to where he stands with Kompany and the club’s front office, executive board, and supervisory board.
Of course, if Olise keeps performing the way he has been since joining from Crystal Palace, Bayern might very well be faced at some point with the dilemma of a mega offer from one of Europe’s giants. He’s reportedly very happy at Bayern, but there are tons of riches on offer elsewhere in the globe and, should a massive offer ever come in for him, Bayern would have to weigh the potential decision of cashing in on him, though hopefully that does not happen and the French winger is with the reigning Bundesliga champions for as long as possible.
Bayern Munich is steamrolling into the week and is scorching hot.
Hotter than hot.
Blazing hot.
However you want to put it, the Bavarians are riding high and playing better than they have at point since 2020. This has truly been a fun ride to watch, but it is far from over. In the midst of all of that, we have a ton of news going on and a lot of it (hell, all of it) is positive at this stage.
