Good morning, baseball fans!
It’s Saturday, so I thought we’d go with a bit of a fun community question. One thing I have always been extremely envious of baseball players for is the fact that they have entrance music. Whether they’re coming up to bat, or warming up on the mound, their presence is announced through their music choices. And I think that’s pretty cool.
Imagine sauntering into a conference room for a meeting and “The Next Episode” by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg starts playing, a la Barry Bonds
in the early 2000s. Or strolling into the copy room to make some copies and “Electric Feel” by MGMT precedes you. You’re pumping out those copies like a young Tim Lincecum pumped out strikes. Or you’re on hold on a sales call and the generic hold music slowly turns into “Smoke on the Water” by Deep Purple, and you’re feeling as confident as Robb Nen.
So today I wanted to see what you all would pick if you had walk-up/warm-up music?
Personally, my answer has been the same since the mid-2000s: the clean version of “Tipsy” by J-Kwon. But I wanted to challenge myself, so I’m going to represent the Swiftie faction of the fanbase and try to pick the best Taylor Swift song to walk-up to.
After a lengthy deliberation, I narrowed it down to two songs. Honorable mention goes to “Bad Blood (feat. Kendrick Lamar)”, but ultimately I think Swift’s best walk-up music has to be the opening of “…Ready for It?” off of her 2017 Reputation album. So that’s going to be my pick.
What would you pick as your walk-up music?
