When the teases hit for Becky Lynch and Finn Bálor’s appearance on the popular Irish radio program Off The Ball, my first thought was that the Isle was getting its first WWE PPV PLE.
My thinking was, if WWE is flying two big stars across the Atlantic for a radio appearance (although with a little digging, it appears OTB is more than just its flagship radio station; it includes a podcast network, web shows, and is generally more like an Irish version of Barstool), it has to be to announce a premium
live event. European events have received the “Clash” branding in the TKO era, ergo the headline.
But it wasn’t Clash in Ireland, or any other PLE. It’s a Raw next January in Dublin’s 3Arena, where Bálor challenged Punk for the World Heavyweight title belt he then held.
