Ramiz Brahimaj turned the tables on Austin Vanderford, defeating “Mr. Paige VanZant” via submission in the second round of their UFC 320 fight.
Round one saw Vanderford controlling Brahimaj against the
cage. He couldn’t get the Armenian-American’s back off the cage to the canvas, but Brahimaj wasn’t able to get up either. In round two Brahimaj was much more aggressive, charging forward and landing a picture perfect head kick that clattered right up against Vanderford’s chin.
Vanderford went into panic wrestling mode, but started sticking his head right into a Brahimaj guillotine. He managed to escape twice, but third time was a charm as Vanderford was forced to tap to a ten-finger guillotine at 2:24 of round two.
The win is Brahimaj’s third in a row and puts him at 5-3 in the UFC. Vanderford drops to 1-1 in the UFC.
