Wearing their all-black uniforms for the first time this season, No. 12 TCU dominated the first and fourth sets of its Big 12 Conference match against No. 18 Kansas. With outside hitters Evan Hendrix and Becca Kelley combining for 41 kills, TCU rolled over the Jayhawks 25-15, 25-23, 23-25, 25-13 for its sixth win over a ranked opponent in 15 matches this season. The Horned Frogs (12-3, 2-1 Big 12) controlled the match on offense, hitting .352 as a team while holding Kansas to a .193 hitting percentage.
TCU will face Texas Tech on the road Saturday.
Hendrix and Kelley continued to step up in the absence of star outside hitter Jalyn Gibson. The sophomore Hendrix was stellar on her attacks, posting a double-double with 20 kills and 13 digs while hitting a team-best .526 for the match. Kelley led TCU with 21 kills and hit .333 for the Horned Frogs, who received 25 assists from Rosemary Archer and 24 assists from Ella Foti. Sarah Sylvester and Alexis Roberson combined for 10 kills and eight blocks in the middle, while libero Alice Volpe recorded 14 digs and finished in double figures for the 12th time this season. Lauren Murphy and Samara Coleman combined for 12 kills to aid the TCU attack in the win.
