Jamal Musiala was not able to play a part in Germany’s 2-0 victory over Serbia, but the Bayern Munich star was still in attendance to watch his teammates in action.
Musiala was spotted in the stands alongside Tobias Altschäffl, a familiar name to anyone who follows German football closely. Altschäffl spent years working for Bild and Sport Bild, eventually serving as Bild’s deputy football chief before his departure from the company on June 1, 2026.
One of the media outlet’s most active and respected journalists, it seemed like an abrupt exit — but at least now we know why he disappeared. His exit from Bild came somewhat unexpectedly, making his subsequent appearance in Musiala’s circle particularly interesting. Altschäffl has now resurfaced as part of Musiala’s management and communications team, adding someone with extensive experience and contacts across German football media to the Bayern Munich star’s inner circle. Recent reporting has specifically described him as a public relations expert and a new member of Musiala’s team.
That makes the sight of Musiala and Altschäffl together at the Germany game more than just a casual moment in the stands. It offers a glimpse into the increasingly important off-field structure surrounding one of German football’s biggest stars.
For now, Musiala’s priority remains returning to full fitness and getting back on the pitch. But as his profile continues to grow, the people around him will play an increasingly significant role in managing his career, media presence, and commercial interests.
