I can’t be the only person who watches AEW programming each week and asks the question, “Where the f*** are Britt Baker and Matt Sydal Keith Lee?” As far as I can tell, Baker and Lee are both healthy yet haven’t competed in AEW since November 2024 and December 2023, respectively.
That’s why I was very curious to hear President Tony Khan’s response during a call with the media today when PW Torch asked him for updates on four specific missing stars: Jay White, Toni, Storm, Baker, and Lee. Here is what
Khan is willing to say about them right now:
“Well, they’re in different positions, each of them. Some are closer, I would say, than others. Those are some great wrestlers you named, in particular. We have a number of stars that have been away, some due to injury, and some that have recovered from injury but haven’t come back into AEW yet. I probably would not tell you the exact return dates of all these people, but I do think those are great ones to speculate on, and to look out for the return of those. And I would say some of those could be coming very soon.”
The latest reporting on “Timeless” Toni Storm indicates she will not return to AEW in 2026. Therefore, when Khan says “some of those could be coming very soon,” it seems to imply he’s referring to at least one of Baker or Lee, unless the word “some” strictly refers to Jay White and nobody else.
Tony was later asked about Jack Perry’s status with AEW, given recent reporting that his contract is expiring or has expired. Khan praised Jungle Man and confidently said, “The plan is for Jack to be in AEW for a long time.” Yeah, I don’t think he’s going anywhere.
Do you think Khan just hinted that Britt Baker or Keith Lee will probably be back in AEW very soon, or am I reading way too much into his answer? Let me know in the comments below, Cagesiders.
