The Portland Trail Blazers have announced several additions to new head coach Micah Nori’s coaching staff, including the previously reported hires of assistant coaches Jay Triano and Mike Williams. The Trail Blazers also announced assistant coach Nate Bjorkgren will be transitioning to a new role as special assistant to the coaching staff and basketball operations.
Additionally, Leron Black has been promoted from player development coach to an assistant coach, while assistant coaches Quinton Crawford
and Gilbert Abraham will be returning to serve as assistants on Nori’s staff.
Bjorkgren joined the franchise as a special assistant to the coaching staff during the third season of suspended head coach Chauncey Billups’ tenure in 2023-24. He then spent the past two seasons as one of Portland’s top assistants under Billups and then acting head coach Tiago Splitter.
Black spent last season as a Blazers player development coach following a two-year stint as an assistant coach with the Blazers’ G League affiliate Rip City Remix.
