After being fired from Stardom for attacking president Taro Okada, Thekla found success in AEW to win the women’s world championship. She called out for Stardom’s best to defend the title at Forbidden Door. The Toxic Spider lived up to her nickname along the way by spitting on the Stardom logo in an act of disrespect. Thekla took the insanity a step further by flying to Japan to invade a Stardom show and attack Okada again.
Let’s take a step back to Wednesday night, because, frankly, all Thekla content
is good content right now. After Stardom’s Hazuki lost to Mercedes Moné in the Owen Hart Cup tournament, Thekla mocked that loss and had a message for Okada. She handed Hazuki a fat wad of cash to tell the Stardom president to buy a first-class ticket to Forbidden Door, so he can witness her destroy Starlight Kid at the PPV. Thekla spoke in Japanese, and Hazuki slapped her. Skye Blue delivered a blindside superkick, and the Triangle of Madness pummeled Hazuki. Thekla dropped the cash on Hazuki’s face and delivered her current catchphrase.
That brings us to Stardom The Conversion 2026 on Saturday, June 20 in Tokyo. As Okada was making an announcement, Thekla popped up out of nowhere from behind and tried to shave his head. This clip is hilarious from the surprise to the facial expressions to the noises from commentary.
Thekla was there to make Okada’s life a living hell.
Thekla snorted to hock a loogie on the Stardom logo, however, Okada scurried over to protect the logo with his body. Thekla changed course to whip Okada with her belt. Starlight Kid ran out for a showdown. She got the upper hand to send Thekla reeling. Stardom wrestlers corralled the Toxic Spider and escort her to the back. Starlight Kid took pride in Stardom. She held the AEW Women’s World Championship up high with a smile.
Backstage, Thekla was ejected from the venue.
Thekla is now ‘banned’ in Japan.
Starlight Kid commented about the incident on social media.
Thekla, thanks for going out of your way to come all the way to Japan? But this is our ring!! You laid hands on the president, and tried to spit on the STARDOM logo again… This isn’t a place for Thekla to do whatever she pleases. On the 28th, I’ll come all the way to America to take this cool belt… And to protect STARDOM, I’ll come meet you! You can run wild for only a little while longer.
This is a great way to create buzz for the AEW women’s world title bout at Forbidden Door.
