Barcelona have confirmed that young prospect Landry Farre has signed a new contract with the club until 2028.
The 18-year-old is widely considered to be one of the best defenders coming through the ranks
at present and has now committed his future to the Catalan giants.
Here’s the club’s official statement:
“FC Barcelona and player Landry Farré have reached an agreement to extend the defender’s contract for two more seasons, so he will remain linked to the Club until June 30, 2028.
“The signing ceremony was attended by the manager responsible for Youth Football, Joan Soler, and the director of Youth Football, José Ramón Alexanco.”
Farre can play as a center-back or as a full-back and was part of the UEFA Youth League winning side last season. He was also called up to the Barca squad for the Champions League semi-final second leg against Inter last season but is yet to make his first-team debut.
The teenager will be hoping that a first senior appearance isn’t too far away, and Barca’s decision to hand out an extension certainly shows they have plenty of faith in the youngster.
