Earlier this week the Pittsburgh Steelers unveiled their newest head coach in Mike McCarthy and obviously we spent five years watching him lead our Dallas Cowboys.
Whether or not you are rooting for McCarthy,
that would be a bit weird given the rivalry between Dallas and Pittsburgh but to each their own, is obviously up to you. At the very least him holding a new job and leading a new team is going to be fascinating from an informational perspective. Jason Garrett was the offensive coordinator for the New York Giants after leaving Dallas, but that was only for a single season. Wade Phillips went on to serve as a defensive coordinator again after leaving the Cowboys, but he also never led another team. Bill Parcells outright retired from football upon his time with this team.
The overall point here is that we are going to be able to discern and corroborate (to a certain degree) things about a recent Dallas Cowboys head coach with an entirely new data set that is independent of this one. That is interesting.
How do you think McCarthy will fare? Do you think he will succeed?
