Jordynne Grace poked at Jade Cargill after WWE highlighted the pair’s exchange Friday on SmackDown.
“75 days – 0 defenses,” Grace wrote on X, referring to Cargill’s reign as WWE Women’s Champion. Fans responded
by calling for Grace to become champion while questioning Cargill’s run: “How come she has had zero title defenses?”
The champion responded to the criticism by questioning the credibility of her challengers.
“Y’all want me to defend my title against a nobody,” wrote Cargill on X. “If I’m going to defend my title, it’s going to be against somebody who is competition.”
Cargill won the WWE Women’s Championship from Tiffany Stratton in November at Saturday Night’s Main Event. While she has yet to defend the title on television, Cargill has been active on WWE’s live tour, scoring wins over multi-time champion and women’s Royal Rumble winner Bayley.
WWE doesn’t acknowledge live events unless they serve a storyline purpose on television, even though it often shares footage from shows on its social media page.
Cargill’s refusal to acknowledge her record at these shows matches WWE’s stance on live events. It also generates heat as she throws her perceived inactivity back at fans who demand to see her put the title on the line.
“Y’all can continue to be angry about it,” Cargill wrote on X. “You might as well cry. IDGAF.”
Cargill’s posts appear to have generated the desired effect as WWE positions Grace as her first challenger. While many responded with insults and praise for Grace, others were more optimistic about Cargill’s future.
“She responding like this?” one person replied. “Yeah, this title run about to be insane.”
