Rutgers star wide receiver KJ Duff has been named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the week for his stellar performance in the Knights 37-30 win over Maryland on Saturday. Duff’s two touchdowns in the first half kept the Scarlet Knights competitive in the early going, keeping the team within striking distance for a comeback after they fell behind 23-13 at the half.
In total, Duff caught nine passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns. One of his touchdowns was a back of the end zone, toe tapping, touchdown grab
that landed him at No.1 on SportCenters top 10 plays from last weekend.
For the season, Duff ranks third nationally with nine receiving touchdowns, fifth with 123.5 receiving yards per game and 11th with seven receptions per game. He has totaled 42 receptions for 741 receiving yards overall. With six games left in the season, Duff is one touchdown away from tying the Rutgers record for receiving touchdowns in a single season currently held by Leonte Carroo, Brandon Coleman and Marco Battaglia.
In total, Duff has 129 receptions for 2,250 yards and 17 touchdowns in 31 career games for Rutgers. He ranks tied for fifth in receiving touchdowns and seventh in receiving yards in the program record book.
He is the first Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for the Scarlet Knights since Kyle Monangai on Sept. 9, 2024.
He was also selected to the Associated Press Midseason All-America Second Team last week.
