65’ – Brave from Rohl to take on Awoniyi in the box for a cross, and Everton can break through Garner.
61’ – GOALLLL!! Another cross into the box and Barry and Rushworth get into a tangle, and inadvertently or not Barry gets a touch that pushes the ball over the line, and just like that Everton lead 2-1!!
58’ – Everton are keeping the pressure on the visitors, hemming them into their own half.
57’ – Dibling with a great run, cross into the box, headed back across but Coventry clear. Not too far, and
Myko crosses again, half-cleared again. Garner finds the left back again and he delivers a peach of a cross onto the six-yard line and BARRY SCORES AGAIN! He met the ball perfectly and Rushworth got a hand to it but could not keep it out, 1-1!
55’ – Visitors attack again and now Gboho’s touch sees the ball go off Armstrong’s arm, but ref immediately says no penalty, phew.
53’ – FIVE Everton defenders around Gboho and no one can get the ball away from the Coventry player and he pokes it past Pickford for the visitors to lead the game 1-0. Farcical football from Everton.
49’ – KDH to Rohl, and he slides Armstrong in and the midfielder tries a shot on the run, but not good contact and the goalie gathers easily.
Coventry are gaining in confidence here as they play out from the back right through the middle of the park, ball goes out to the right and cross back into the box was too high.
48’ – Awoniyi gets in ahead of Myko and as the pair rush towards the box the striker puts his leg in front of the defender before going down in a heap. Ref says no penalty and VAR concurs that contact was outside the box. Sneaky bugger that Taiwo lad.
46’ – Coventry get the second half underway, no changes from either side.
Poor touch allows the visitors to run at the defence, Gboho shot deflected but straight to Pickford.
Halftime Thoughts – Everton did not make their good start count and have allowed Coventry to get set and impose themselves here. Will Moyes rely on giving the boys a stern talking-to, or will he actually make some changes?
45+1’ – Coventry with another long throw that Garner can block and there’s the halftime whistle. Everton started well but have been outplayed for the last twenty or so minutes.
45’ – Finally an Everton attack but Rohl’s cross is poor and goes out.
One minute to be added on here.
44’ – Coventry cross into the box, and a visitor’s player goes down next to Tarky. VAR review says no foul, looks like it was Tarky being investigated for a hair pull?
43’ – Long throw knocked on by Pinnock, Everton marshal them away, but with Dibling and Dasilva dueling for the ball, the call goes against the Everton player and the fans are unhappy.
Torp lines up the freekick from well over thirty yards out, and it’s straight at Pickford and he two-fists it away.
41’ – Myko turns into trouble and again Coventry can attack. Ball comes to Rudoni and he fires off a shot at the far post, Pickford stretches and it’s just wide.
37’ – Long throw causes chaos in the Everton box, Pinnock gets to it and cannot shoot, then it comes to Rudoni with his back to goal and he tries to get fancy and Everton can clear. The home fans are deeply displeased what has gone on in the last few minutes.
35’ – Coventry attack through the middle before they have space on the Everton left, and George slides in with a big block to cut out a cross, corner. Into the mess in the box, Pickford punches away, ball back into the six-yard box and Tarky with a big block.
Rudoni finds Sakamoto in space and he can shoot, Pickford parries it away, whew.
33’ – Branthwaite charges forward and wants the ball, Armstrong dallies on it and is caught out and Coventry have a chance to create an odd-man rush, but Dibling leads the blue rush back and can clear the danger.
32’ – Gboho and Torp have both had cracks from far out, and they’ve been far off too.
Everton had a chance at a counter but KDH’s pass seeking Barry is poor.
30’ – Another Coventry cross, headed away by Myko, George can’t clear it. Myko gets in front of the next cross, balloons up into the air and Pickford takes it.
28’ – Coventry probe the Everton left but Myko and George do enough to hold them off.
Now Rohl can cross from the left after Dibling gets in front of a bouncing ball, but it’s overhit and races away for a goalkick.
24’ – Another good spell here as Everton hold the ball on the left, exhaust all possibilities, circulate it back to the right, before Dibling finds Barry in a spot where he could turn, but instead of trying a shot he lofts a cross into the six-yard box with no blue shirts anywhere.
21’ – Rohl and Dibling cannot prevent a cross coming into the box, but Rudoni’s header is poor and wide, and Everton are lucky.
Dibling does well to get the ball back from a pair of Coventry players by the touchline, and is fouled.
17’ – Everton corner now from the left. Taken short, Garner swings it into the back post but it’s too high even for the giant Branthwaite.
12’ – Delightful diagonal from Garner almost finds Dibling in acres of space behind the backline but the first time league starter cannot control it.
Mfuni fouls George and Everton have a freekick midway between the box and the center circle. KDH puts it into the box, the ball pings around and Armstrong has two clean looks at goal and still cannot get it in the net! Oh nevermind, Thierno Barry had handled the ball anyway.
9’ – 18-yr-old Mfuni does well to stop KDH on a break. Now another counter and Tyrique George gets it to Barry on the right, and he dallies on it, and dallies on it and his shot is blocked. Da Silva doesn’t clear and it comes to Vitaliy Mykolenko but his shot is straightforward and Rushworth punches his attempt away.
8’ – A hopeful cross into the ball is just over Awoniyi’s head and skids past Jordan Pickford’s left post, and the goalie makes a nervous late dive to ensure it’s going wide.
5’ – Rushworth with an awful clearance but the goalie is lucky as Garner cuts out the pass but Everton cannot turn it into a shot.
3’ – Awoniyi gets to a long ball in between Jarrad Branthwaite and James Tarkowski, but Garner is quick to clear. The long-throw into the box is hoofed away.
1’- James Garner gets us underway, Everton in a blue-white-blue combination, Coventry are white-peach-white.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall gets the ball and is met by boos from the away contingent, given his history as a Leicester City player.
The players are walking out to Z-Cars with the captains of both sides holding poppy wreaths which are part of the Remembrance Day commemoration events being held by all clubs.
The bugle final farewell is met by a loud roar of appreciate, and we’re ready to play some football.
Starting Lineups

Match Preview
Everton are back at Hill Dickinson Stadium after picking up their first away league win of the season, and first on the road since February having beaten Newcastle at St. James’ Park. They are hosting former manager Frank Lampard and his Coventry City side who have bounced back with three wins in their last five games after a poor start to the season.
The Blues will be without Jack Grealish again though there is a chance Jarrad Branthwaite could feature after suffering from cramp in the win over the Magpies.
