We’ve reached the final week of the 2026 NFL preseason. The Seattle Seahawks have some interesting decisions to make come Aug. 30, and the injuries to Jake Bobo, Bud Clark, and Mason Richman will surely change the equation a bit as far as who makes the team and which bubble players now have a better chance to survive final cuts.
Before we look ahead to the Kansas City Chiefs finale, let’s get to another Seahawks 53-man roster projection! As always, this is purely an initial 53 and not a season-long
projection.
Offense (25)
Quarterback (3): Sam Darnold, Drew Lock, Jalen Milroe
Cut: N/A
Notes: Yes, I’m keeping Milroe for now. It’s a little more tenuous than the previous week and I’m questioning whether or not he’s a roster certainty. However, he’s still in year two of a third-round rookie contract, which means his cap charge is all of $1.4 million this season. Basically, if Milroe is let go it has a lot more to do with needing his spot for a position of greater need, because there is no real cap relief that comes with giving up now.
Running Back (3): Jadarian Price (R), Emanuel Wilson, George Holani
Cut: Jacardia Wright, Velus Jones Jr
PUP: Zach Charbonnet
Notes: I thought about keeping Jacardia Wright on the 53-man roster, but one huge touchdown run shouldn’t be enough to put him over the top after missing much of camp due to injury. The one hedge I have is the health of Emanuel Wilson, who didn’t play in the Titans game and has been out of practice with his own injury. Wilson should be comfortably on the roster, but if his availability in the coming weeks is in doubt, Wright could be added to the fold.
Fullback (1): Brady Russell
Cut: Brock Lampe
Already on IR: Robbie Ouzts
Notes: I have no doubt that Russell will be on the roster, but he’s also not a traditional fullback. Seattle may scour the market for fullbacks and/or keep Lampe on the practice squad. I’m admittedly unsure whether or not Seattle rosters two fullbacks.
Wide Receiver (5): Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp, Rashid Shaheed, Tory Horton, Montorie Foster
Cut: Emmanuel Henderson Jr (R), Cody White, Ricky White III, Irv Charles, Rashad Rochelle
Notes: The Jake Bobo injury has changed the equation. I think Foster, even with the pre-snap penalty issues, has done enough to make his way into the roster. Cody White clears waivers all the time so I’m not worried if he’s waived. Emmanuel Henderson Jr could be a surprise sixth wide receiver over everyone else for his value as a special teams gunner. Maybe he’s the real Dareke Young replacement, which Ricky White may not seem to be.
Tight End (4): A.J. Barner, Elijah Arroyo, Eric Saubert, Nick Kallerup
Cut: Nick Vannett
Notes: If the Seahawks keep five at wide receiver then they might as well keep four at tight end. This would be the same quartet as last season.
Offensive Line (9): Charles Cross, Abe Lucas, Josh Jones, Anthony Bradford, Olu Oluwatimi, Jalen Sundell, Grey Zabel, Christian Haynes, Beau Stephens (R)
Cut: Federico Maranges, Bobby Hart, Amari Kight, Logan Brown, Bryce Cabeldue
IR: Mason Richman
Notes: I don’t think anyone needs to replace Richman now that he’s surely done for the season. I’m banking on Haynes being the primary backup guard, with Beau Stephens as the third-string guard. Any thought of Olu Oluwatimi possibly getting dealt so that Richman could be the new backup center was thrown out the window on Sunday. Hart likely is a veteran option on the practice squad.
Defense (25)
Defensive Line (6): Byron Murphy II, Leonard Williams, Jarran Reed, Rylie Mills, Mike Morris, Brandon Pili
Cut: J.R. Singleton, Bubba Thomas, Uso Seumalo (R), Deven Eastern (R)
Notes: Unless there’s some sort of trade value to be had with Morris on an expiring deal, I think they have their core three of Murphy, Leo, and Reed, with Mills as the situational pass rusher and Morris as the jack-of-all-trades guy who can play in sub-packages and garbage time. Pili is the nose tackle who takes up 5-10 snaps a game when he’s active. I wouldn’t be surprised, however, if Pili is a practice squad stash again.
Outside Linebacker (4): Derick Hall, Uchenna Nwosu, Dante Fowler Jr, DeMarcus Lawrence
Cut: Jared Ivey, Connor O’Toole, Marvin Jones Jr (R), Jamie Sheriff, Jalan Gaines, Aidan Hubbard (R)
Notes: If a fifth true edge makes it, I think O’Toole is that fifth guy. Ivey has shown almost nothing between camp in preseason for me to think he gets a roster spot this year. Sheriff played well on Sunday but I don’t think he’s in an advantageous position having missed so much camp time.
Inside Linebacker (5): Ernest Jones IV, Drake Thomas, Tyrice Knight, Patrick O’Connell, Chazz Surratt
Cut: Chris Paul Jr, Aaron Smith, Power Echols
Notes: I think the top four are locks and it’s just a matter of whether or not Surratt is so valuable on special teams that they want to keep him on the 53 versus calling him up from the practice squad. Seattle values ST players enough to maybe roster a guy or two whom otherwise wouldn’t touch regular season snaps on offense or defense.
Cornerback (5): Devon Witherspoon, Josh Jobe, Nehemiah Pritchett, Julian Neal (R), Noah Igbinoghene
Cut: Jordan Washington (R), Michael Dansby (R), Andre Fuller (R), Trevon Diggs
Notes: We are TBD on Terrion Arnold so I’ll leave him off until he’s signed and placed on the exempt list. I think Igbinoghene has looked really good throughout preseason and in the training camp practices I attended. Trevon Diggs is battling for a roster spot and I think Seattle could end up giving him the practice squad treatment after this last week of preseason. He shouldn’t be subject to waivers and could just sign to the PS after the deadline. If a rookie is to make the team outside of Julian Neal, it might be Fuller for what he can provide in the slot.
Safety (5): Julian Love, Ty Okada, Nick Emmanwori, A.J. Finley, D’Anthony Bell
Cut: Maxen Hook, Rodney Thomas II
IR: Bud Clark
Notes: Well, Bud Clark is not back any time soon. Emmanwori is off PUP and unless he’s had a setback I don’t see why he’d go on IR if he has to miss the start of the regular season. Finley and Bell have been the predominant safeties through the early portions of both preseason games. Bell may be the backup for Emmanwori as that box safety, whereas Finley would be the deep safety filling in as Okada’s backup/Clark’s replacement.
Special Teams (3)
Kicker (1): Jason Myers
Punter (1): Michael Dickson
Long Snapper (1): Chris Stoll
Cut: No one
Notes: Nothing to debate here.
