It’s never bad to be a Super Bowl-winning quarterback, but Sam Darnold of the Seattle Seahawks has been having a 2026 to remember.
That started, of course, with winning his first Super Bowl in February. Then Darnold married his fiancée in April. Now he’s been inducted into the football Hall of Fame… of San Clemente High School.
While the honor from Darnold’s alma mater might not match the other two lifetime achievements, it’s still another nail for the Seahawks’ star to hang his hat on. It’s at San
Clemente where Darnold got his start as No. 18 and blossomed into the eventual USC star. In Darnold’s senior season, he completed 68% of his passes for nearly 3000 passing yards and 38 touchdowns.
While Darnold became a four-star recruit as a Triton, it wasn’t exactly a straight shot for him from high school star to Super Bowl-winning quarterback. While he was cast off for much of his early NFL career, a resurgence in 2024 with the Minnesota Vikings landed him in Seattle, where he threw for over 4,000 yards and 28 touchdowns while completing 68% of his passes.
Darnold would be an obvious induction for any high school program, no matter the NFL success, but the path of perseverance should make this one special for the program and the Seahawks’ quarterback.
