Spain boss Luis de la Fuente played down fears Lamine Yamal suffered an injury during Tuesday’s World Cup semi-final against France after the Barcelona teenager was spotted limping after the match.
Footage on social media showed Yamal with a bit of a hobble as he went to speak to his family following the final whistle in Dallas.
De la
Fuente was asked about his condition and insisted he is not aware of any injury to the teenager.
“Lamine has nothing that I know of. I have spoken to the doctors now. Pedro Porro seems like an overload, but we’ll see tomorrow,” he said.
Yamal won the penalty against France which saw La Roja take a 1-0 lead as Mikel Oyarzabal converted from the spot. Pedro Porro added a second as the European champions secured a place in Sunday’s final.
Spain will face either Argentina or England in New York, with the two teams set to play the second semi-final later today.
