With the MLS season in progress, Bayern Munich legend Thomas Müller is about to reach the end of his contract. What will happen when it expires? Will he sign on for another season with the Vancouver Whitecaps?
“I’m thinking about a lot of things, but right now I’m fully focused on the upcoming games,” the Raumdeuter told the media (via Kicker). “We’ll see what my body tells me in the next few weeks, and then we’ll see. There’s a lot going on, and I don’t have a concrete answer right now.”
“It’s always
about my personal situation, my contract, the city I live in, the team’s prospects, and my availability, so my body,” said Müller. “The whole package is extremely important for my decision. I feel very comfortable here, I’m having fun with the team. We’ll wait and see what happens.”
At his age, most players would be looking at retirement. However, Müller seems happy playing football with the Whitecaps and may extend his contract for another season. It does not seem to be about money for him, he just enjoys playing professional football. The day he retires, the sport will lose one of its most unique stars.
