Perhaps no starting pitcher on the Mariners’ staff better represents the drop-off from last season than Bryan Woo, the starter the Dodgers will be facing in this series finale. High among the list of problems for Woo in 2026 has been his inability to strand base runners, with a LOB% cratering from an 80.4% mark a year ago to 63.1% this season.
Seeking consistency, Roki Sasaki returns to Dodger Stadium having been absolutely phenomenal on a road trip through New York, allowing a single earned run in 12.2 innings against the Mets and Yankees. That run came on a long ball, exactly what’s plagued Sasaki in his worst moments of the season and the driving force behind Seattle’s win on Tuesday.
