According to a report from Sky Germany, Borussia Dortmund has reached out to Greece in hopes of convincing the national team to rest 18-year-old wunderkind Konstantinos Karetsas.
Borussia Dortmund cited the youngster’s heavy workload already this season for club and country as a reason why Karetsas needs a break:

Konstantinos Karetsas started in all three of Greece’s Nations League matches – in the historic win against Germany, he even played the full 90 minutes.

According to Sky Sport, Borussia Dortmund has therefore reached out to the Greek association and requested that the 18-year-old BVB talent be used sparingly.
The background: Karetsas has recently shouldered a heavy workload and will already face Werder Bremen with Dortmund just five days later. 🏟️⚽️
Karetsas has been excellent for both club and country so far this season, but calls like this by clubs could become more common in the coming years. The extended international breaks will no doubt cause clubs agita when it comes to player health and safety.
