In Munich, Germany beat Serbia 2-0 in the Nations League to get the ball rolling in the Jürgen Klopp era. Joshua Kimmich, who was not part of the matchday squad after playing against the Netherlands and Greece, watched from the stands and went down to the locker room after the match to congratulate the team on their impressive win.
Kimmich was not the only one watching live: Jamal Musiala was also in attendance, alongside former Bild deputy football chief Tobias Altschäffl, who is now part of Musiala’s management team.
After a rocky start to Klopp’s reign as Germany coach, the 59-year-old former Liverpool manager orchestrated an impressive victory that reminded the world that Germany should not be written off. Against Serbia, a secondary lineup featuring mostly younger players performed far better than the primary squad did last week. Players such as Tom Bischof, a determined Florian Wirtz, Derry Scherhant, and Philipp Treu played their hearts out, proving why they deserve to wear the Germany shirt.
