The Tar Heels have arrived in East Hartford to face off against the UConn Huskies. Both teams are going into this game with a 4-4 record, but the two records tell a different story from one another. In the case of UNC, they were able to take down some Power Four competition, and could’ve had a better record were it not for some critical mistakes. For the Huskies, though, they have lost to every Power Team that they’ve played, so their wins consist of teams like Lafayette, Southern Miss, Temple, and UMass.
In theory, this will be a game between two very different levels of talent. In practice, though, the Heels can’t fool around with the Huskies, or they could suffer a really embarrassing loss.
After coming surprisingly close to beating Miami, the Heels need something to feel good about going into the rest of November. They’ve actually suffered two close losses in a row, and a win would go a long way in boosting morale before they face off against Louisville next week. Thankfully Billy Edwards Jr. is coming off one of the best games of his career, but will he be able to flex that muscle against UConn? Also, will he get enough help so that he doesn’t have to do everything himself? Let’s hope that is the case.
As always, we will be back after the game with post-game analysis and takes. Until then, Go Heels!
