In case you missed it, Liverpool FC signing Jeremy Jacquet suffered a shoulder injury over the weekend in Rennes’ 3-1 loss to Lens. The player is now facing the prospect of season-ending surgery.
It’s been kind of a crazy week for the 20-year-old defender. Over the span of eight days, he finalised a £60 million move to Liverpool, was knocked out of the Coupe de France by Marseille, suffered his injury and saw head coach Habib Beye sacked.
LFC head coach Arne Slot lamented the injury while speaking
about the club’s bad luck this season in his pre-match press conference for the away game to Sunderland, saying:
“It feels like [bad luck has come our way], that is for sure.”
“Even if we sign a player and he’s not even playing for us he gets injured!”
“So yeah, sometimes it feels like that. But the moment you start to feel it’s all bad luck probably it comes to you as well. So we should keep it away as much as possible and just focus on the performance, focus on what we can do to improve it.”
So uh yeah, the next time you see Jeremy Jacquet play football, it will likely be in Liverpool FC Red. If there’s anything to be thankful about, it’s that it’s not a leg-related injury, at least. All the best to large Jeremy on his recovery, YNWA.
