Former VfB Stuttgart midfielder Chema Andrés did not need much time to identify the Germany player who has impressed him the most.
When asked about the standout player he has watched, the young midfielder singled out Joshua Kimmich, highlighting not only the Bayern Munich star’s technical qualities but also his leadership and ability to control a team from the middle of the pitch.
“Personally, the one I’ve liked the most is Kimmich. The way he plays, his composure, everything… the way he organizes
the team, his character. I pay a lot of attention to him,” Andrés told El Chiringuito TV (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Andrés’ comments are particularly interesting because Kimmich’s influence goes beyond his work with the ball. The Germany captain is often responsible for setting the rhythm of possession, directing teammates and helping organize the team during matches.
For a young midfielder like Andrés, Kimmich can serve as an especially useful reference point. His ability to combine technical quality with tactical discipline and leadership has made him one of the most recognizable midfielders in German football.
