As Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl watched his team battle against PSV Eindhoven, the veteran executive both admired the fight of the home side and his own squad’s resilience.
“It was an intensive match. PSV won in Liverpool so they’re not a team who you just brush off. We were also playing against the crowd, but I think we did that very well. We had opportunities in the first half, so did PSV, but overall I thought it was a very good display by us. The team’s reaction to the defeat
against Augsburg, and also to the obstacles we faced today, is positive. That shows the character of this team,” said Eberl (as captured by FCBayern.com).
Character…resilience…fight…heart…those are all traits of a championship level squad. For Eberl, putting a team together is more than just about talent — it is about fit, chemistry, and mindset.
From that standpoint, the executive looks like he has hit a home run with this group.
