Barcelona star Gavi says he’s hoping that Lamine Yamal can keep on improving so that he can go on and become of the greatest players of all time.
Yamal is already one of the biggest stars in world football and has won La Liga and Copa del Rey titles with Barcelona as well as the Euros and the World Cup with Spain.
Gavi says that Yamal is always surprising his team-mates on the training ground and thinks he has the required mentality to go on and become a true great of the game.
“He’s amazing. The guy
is really good, and in training he surprises you even more,” he told Men’s Health.
“I just hope he keeps improving. He knows his potential; he could be one of the best of all time. But I see him as mentally sound, which is ultimately what matters.
“He has things clear in his mind, and he still has a long career ahead of him. He has to keep going like this every day because, as I said before, the present is what counts. He’ll be under intense scrutiny every day.”
Yamal will be hoping to add more trophies to his collection this season. He’s among the favorites for the Ballon d’Or and has already made it clear the Champions League is the team’s “main goal” for 2026-27.
