The Brewers haven’t made a ton of major moves this offseason, mostly maintaining their roster from the end of 2025 into the new year. Outside of the Ángel Zerpa-Nick Mears-Isaac Collins trade last weekend,
Milwaukee’s biggest moves are the signing of Akil Baddoo and the team bringing Brandon Woodruff back on a qualifying offer.
But what about smaller moves? Let’s take a quick look at the minor league deals the Brewers have made this offseason (in chronological order).
November 8: Re-signings
The offseason moves kicked off in early November as the Brewers re-signed four minor leaguers set to hit free agency. Those names included RHP Garrett Stallings, C Darrien Miller, C Ramón Rodríguez, and SS Eduardo Garcia.
Stallings, 28, was a fifth-round pick by the Angels in 2019. After being traded to the Orioles in 2020 for Jose Iglesias, he was once again traded in 2024, this time for Thyago Vieira. He spent the entire 2025 season with Triple-A Nashville, turning in his best season yet as he pitched to a 3.99 ERA with 72 strikeouts over 99 1/3 innings across 30 appearances, including 15 starts.
Miller, who turns 25 in March, was a ninth-round pick by Milwaukee back in 2019. He’s gradually risen through Milwaukee’s minor league system, topping out at Double-A Biloxi, where he’s spent each of the last two seasons. In 81 games with the Shuckers this year, he hit .192/.381/.329 with seven homers, 37 RBIs, 40 runs, and four steals. Despite a career batting average of just .218 across all levels, Miller has a knack for drawing walks, with a career .373 OBP.
Rodríguez, 27, was a 30th-round pick by the Dodgers in 2016. He was released by L.A. in 2020 before signing with the Orioles in 2021, spending three seasons in their system before signing with Milwaukee in December 2023. He spent the 2024 season at High-A Wisconsin before leveling up to Double-A Biloxi in 2025. He appeared in just 21 games this season, as he went down with an injury in mid-May that kept him out for the rest of the year. Across those 21 games, however, he hit a solid .359/.457/.484 with two homers, 19 RBIs, and eight runs.
Garcia, 23, was an international signee out of Venezuela in 2018. He split his 2025 season between High-A Wisconsin and Double-A Biloxi, appearing in 129 games across the two levels. He hit .243/.330/.395 with 13 homers, 56 RBIs, 73 runs, and 41 steals in 48 attempts.
November 10: RHP Jesus Vasquez
There isn’t much to say about Vasquez beyond the fact that he was born in 2008. Yeesh. An international signee out of Valencia, Venezuela, the right-hander stands at 6’0” and 160 pounds. Coming out of Ruben Guillon Academy, we should see Vasquez with the DSL Brewers next summer.
November 11: SS Eddys Leonard
Leonard, who turned 25 in November, was signed out of the Dominican Republic by the Dodgers back in 2017. He spent six seasons in their farm system before being designated for assignment in July 2023. He was then traded to the Tigers for cash, spending the rest of 2023 and 2024 in Detroit’s system before playing the entire 2025 season with the Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves.
Across 674 career minor league games, Leonard has hit .265/.348/.452 with 95 homers, 144 doubles, 19 triples, 345 RBIs, 392 runs scored, and 53 steals in 84 attempts. With the Gwinnett Stripers in 2025, he played in 126 games, hitting .239/.304/.435 with 20 homers, 61 RBIs, 48 runs, and 11 steals in 16 attempts. He’s been assigned to Triple-A Nashville.
November 25: RHP Hansel Rincon
I won’t talk too much about Rincon because he’s no longer in Milwaukee’s organization after being selected in the Rule 5 draft (see below). Originally signed by the Diamondbacks in late 2019, Rincon made his first pro appearance in 2021 with the DSL D-backs, spending three seasons rising through Arizona’s system before topping out at Double-A in 2023. He was released before the 2024 season and, according to his Baseball Reference page, has not pitched in any leagues since.
December 10: Rule 5 Draft
The Brewers didn’t gain or lose any players in the MLB phase of this year’s Rule 5 draft, but there was quite a bit of movement during the minor league phase. The Brewers lost six players, including IF Zavier Warren (Reds), OF Hedbert Perez (Blue Jays), OF Garrett Spain (Twins), LHP Caden Vire (Red Sox), LHP Nate Peterson (Reds), and the aforementioned Rincon (Yankees). The only addition was RHP Cole Phillips from the Mariners.
Phillips, 22, was a second-round pick by the Braves in 2022 before being shipped to the Mariners organization in the Jarred Kelenic trade in December 2023. He’s had an unfortunate string of bad luck, having not appeared in any professional games as he’s undergone a pair of Tommy John surgeries and a stress reaction in his elbow that kept him out for all of 2025. We’ll see if his fortunes change in 2026 with a new organization.
December 11: OF Greg Jones Jr.
Jones, who turns 28 in March, was a first-round pick by the Rays in 2019. He hasn’t exactly panned out up to this point in his career, progressing through the minors and debuting with the Rockies in 2024. He’s made just nine MLB appearances to date — six games with Colorado in 2024 and three games with the White Sox in 2025, recording just one hit (a homer) across seven at-bats. He was released by Chicago early in the season and spent the rest of the year in Houston’s minor league system, though he missed the final two-plus months due to injury. Given Milwaukee’s outfield depth, it seems Jones will primarily serve as further depth with Triple-A Nashville.
December 12: RHP Adrian Bello & RHP Wilmer Duarte
As with Vasquez above, there isn’t much to say about Bello and Duarte. Both are 17-year-old prospects out of the Dominican Republic, as Bello was born in August 2008 and Duarte was born in March 2008. Bello (not to be confused with a different Adrian Bello in the Marlins system) measures in at 6’3” and 180 pounds, while Duarte is 6’0” and 170 pounds.
December 16: RHP Alejandro Bustamante
Not even officially listed in Milwaukee’s transaction logs, the only thing I could find about Bustamante was the post from Brewers Farm included below. We’ll see if any other news emerges about him in the coming weeks.
December 17: RHP Gerson Garabito & LHP Drew Rom
Beyond Jones, Garabito and Rom are probably the most well-known names of the players included on this list. Garabito, 30, was an international signee out of the Dominican Republic all the way back in 2012. He’s spent time in the farm systems of the Royals, Giants, and Rangers, debuting with Texas in 2024, when he made 18 appearances (two starts) with a 4.78 ERA and 22 strikeouts over 26 1/3 innings.
He spent most of 2025 at Triple-A Round Rock, making 10 starts with a dismal 8.53 ERA and 0-7 record with 28 strikeouts over 31 2/3 innings. He also pitched eight innings across three relief appearances in the majors, allowing 12 runs (eight earned) with eight strikeouts across eight innings (9.00 ERA).
Rom, who turned 26 earlier this week, was a fourth-round pick by the Orioles in 2018. He spent nearly five years in their system before being shipped to the Cardinals in the Jack Flaherty trade at the 2023 trade deadline. He made his MLB debut that year with St. Louis, making eight starts for the Cardinals with an 8.02 ERA and 32 strikeouts across 33 2/3 innings.
He missed most of 2025 due to injury, appearing in just seven games with St. Louis’ Low-A and Triple-A affiliates, totaling a 3.86 ERA with 24 strikeouts over 23 1/3 innings in those outings.
