The illness that has ripped through the Bayern Munich locker room has claimed many victims so far — including center-back Dayot Upamecano.
The Frenchman’s presence was missed in a 2-1 loss to FC Augsburg
on Saturday, so the defender is aiming to return on Wednesday vs. PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League per Bild (via @iMiaSanMia_GER):
Dayot Upamecano returned to the training pitch today. He did build-up training with athletics coach Quirin Löppert. For around half an hour, Upamecano completed a still rather light fitness program involving jogging, dribbling, as well as ball receptions and passes over mini hurdles.
There was no word on the respective statuses of Serge Gnabry, Lennart Karl (who played on Saturday, but did miss training on Friday), or Sacha Boey.
There should be more news on the injured and ill players on Monday as the team begins its preparation for its Champions League matchup with PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday.
