Omos went too far in AAA and put hands on general manager Rey Mysterio. Now, the giant is suspended indefinitely.
Omos was in action against Galeno on the latest episode from Lucha Libre AAA (full results) on Saturday night (Aug. 22, 2026). It was classic big man versus bigger man style. When the fisticuffs spilled outside, Galeno hit Omos with the steel steps. Omos reacted like a giant would. He booted Galeno, hit him with the steps, and slammed him onto the Spanish commentary desk. The referee threw
the match out due to losing control of the wrestlers.
The real chaos came afterward. Inside the ring, Omos lifted the steps with the intent of chucking them over the ropes at Galeno. Rey Mysterio ran down to block the line of fire. Omos abided by Rey’s authority, then Rey chastised him to calm down. Omos reacted by goozling Rey high into the air. Dominik Mysterio eagerly encouraged Omos to chokeslam his father. Dorian Roldan was the voice of reason urging Omos to release his grip. Omos chilled out for now. Rey grabbed the mic to suspend Omos from AAA. Omos served a supersized knuckle sandwich to Rey.
This scene was great entertainment. Omos did his role well as a giant. The visual of lifting Rey is eye-popping. I laughed hard at Dirty Dom jumping up in excitement for the chokeslam. On one hand, it can be argued that Omos deserved the suspension for putting hands on the general manager. On the other hand, it can be argued that Rey is biased with jealousy over his son’s success. Rey ran into Omos’ fist to frame the giant, then he suspended Omos out of spite toward Dominik. Seriously though, I’m sad to see Omos off the screen in AAA. His presence adds a larger than life element, and the booking doesn’t overexpose him. Maybe Dorian can have Omos return under a mask. This is lucha libre after all.
