At just over 17-years-old, youth star Lennart Karl made the headlines as the youngest ever Champions League goal scorer for Bayern Munich. You would think he spends all his time training, the way he moves
with the ball, but the story is slightly different.
According to Sky Sports, captured by @iMiaSanMia, Lennart Karl actually spent his Champions League day in school. Even having your first ever call up to the UCL starting XI isn’t enough to skip school for a day apparently. The report tells us that although Karl attended in the morning, he was permitted to leave and train for the game after school’s first break. Karl is currently balancing his career at Bayern with his high-school diploma, and while it looks like he’s doing a pretty bang up job, he is taking extra tutoring lessons at Säbener Straße to compensate for the lessons he does miss at school.
Having your first start in a UCL game and scoring your first goal that happens to break a record must be an incredible feeling, but what must be stranger is having to worry about your math homework soon after it. Karl is most definitely a high-potential youngster, and he’s on the road to becoming a regular player under Vincent Kompany, but as always, your education comes first.
Bayern Munich is steamrolling into the weekend and is scorching hot.
Hotter than hot.
Blazing hot.
However you want to put it, the Bavarians are riding high and playing better than they have at point since 2020. This has truly been a fun ride to watch, but it is far from over. In the midst of all of that, we have a ton of news going on and a lot of it (hell, all of it) is positive at this stage.
Let’s get into all of it here. This is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show:
- After extending the deal of Vincent Kompany, is there a contract extension at Bayern Munich for Manuel Neuer? The process might be starting.
- Nick Woltemade could be looking at a long-term future at…Bayern Munich? Why the timing could actually work out for the Newcastle United star to return to Germany when the time is right.
- A listener Q&A segment
- Wrapping up HBO’s Task.
