“We’re getting a dawg in Joe Brady. [Be] ready to run through a motherfucker’s face.”
Several Buffalo Bills players were in attendance for Joe Brady’s introduction as head coach. Josh Allen sat in the front
row along with tight end Dalton Kincaid and offensive tackle Spencer Brown with Max Hairston behind them. Several players were in the weight room lifting and listening in between sets. Alec Anderson finished up plowing his driveway and came in for the event.
It’s a good thing, because Anderson is a walking quote machine, as you can see in the opening two sentences.
“Joe comes with high energy and tell you how he feels,” said Anderson, talking about the insane amount of caffeine Brady consumes. “He has his own personality. Not so much business attire. He’s not ‘one of us [players]’ but we don’t have to have our assholes so tight all the time.”
Kincaid said the same thing, well, at least they had the same thrust.
“Brady allows his players to have their own personality,” said the tight end.
Neither comment like a shot at former head coach Sean McDermott in the moment, but you can definitely connect the dots. Brady talked repeatedly during his press conference, both in his opening and answering questions, that being yourself is the best way to success.
“If I am not myself, it is not going to work,” said Brady, who also said he felt uncomfortable in his suit this afternoon. “I have to be me. I do curse. I stutter through my thoughts sometimes. But I am going to be my personality and be comfortable with who I am.”
Anderson appreciates that.
“If you’re not a disgusting human being, let it out,” said Anderson.
Allen is much more measured when talking about his QB coach turned offensive coordinator turned head coach.
“I truly believe Joe will be the catalyst to get everyone working as one,” said Allen after Brady spoke. “He’s going to hold me to a very high standard. I welcome that. I want that.”
Saying how much he believes in the organization from the top on down, Allen was asked about the pressure of moving on with a new head coach.
“I don’t see much pressure because I fully believe in who we hired,” said Allen after the press conference.
