What to watch for
The Mystics are behind in their playoff series against the Dream after losing last Sunday. While Washington started off on the right foot in the first half, a horrible third quarter led to a 92-77 whooping
for the Mystics.
Wednesday is also significant because the Mystics haven’t hosted a playoff game since Oct. 10, 2019 when they hosted the Connecticut Sun in Game 5 of the WNBA Finals and won 89-78. In that game nearly seven years ago, Emma Meesseman turned on the jets to clinch the series and give Washington their first ever championship.
The roster has turned over completely since then and this time, Washington is simply hosting a first round playoff game. Hopefully, the young Mystics will take care of business in this better-than-expected season so they can reach the second round and play some October playoff basketball.
