After missing both Wednesday and Thursday practice, wide receiver Ladd McConkey (rib) logged a limited session on Friday and now enters the weekend with a questionable tag. That’s quite the jump from no practice before Friday to now having a real chance to play, but that may be because of a cautious approach from the coaching staff.
Joining McConkey as questionable for Sunday is cornerback Deane Leonard who could make his season debut after missing last week’s game with an abdomen injury. Leonard’s
return would be a huge boost for a special teams unit that underperformed against the Cardinals.
Safety Elijah Molden and offensive lineman Trey Pipkins have both been ruled out this week with hamstring and knee injuries, respectively. Veteran Tony Jefferson will likely draw the start at free safety in place of Molden while Kayode Awosika should hold starting left guard duties for the entire game.
One underlying storyline with Pipkins out could be that rookie Travis Burke could see some snaps as the team’s swing tackle should they choose to go with any heavy formations.
