WWE needs something for Oba Femi to do after kicking Brock Lesnar’s ass back into retirement at SummerSlam, so he’s been having face-offs on Raw with a pissed off Bron Breakker. Bron is one half of the world tag team champions, along with Austin Theory, so it’s not the craziest idea in the world for Oba to find a partner for his upcoming feud against The Vision’s unstoppable badass.
Enter Cody Rhodes?
WWE is now advertising Rhodes and Femi for a world tag team championship match against Breakker and Theory
at this Friday’s (Aug. 14) SmackDown taping in Boston, Massachusetts.
This is almost certainly a dark match that exists to sell tickets and get more WWE fans in the building for Friday night’s SmackDown event. Rhodes and Femi fought each other to a No Contest last December at Saturday Night’s Main Event, and I would expect a similar non-finish when they try to win tag team gold together on Friday night.
