The March 17 episode of NXT’s appreciation night for Booker T featured the WWE Hall of Famer showing up to the venue in Houston in a Cybertruck.
His decision to drive the world’s most hated vehicle apparently didn’t sit well with lots of wrestling fans. On the latest episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T said he got heat with fans for
it. They’ll need to get over it, though, because he really likes the Tesla product, and has always been curious about trying out machines of the future.
“I got a lot of heat for rolling up in my Cybertruck too, for some reason…A lot of fans hate the Cybertruck. I don’t know why. Maybe they think I’m, you know, I don’t know what they think.
…For you young people out there, I’ve been waiting on the future since I was a kid. I’m not gonna die without having self-drive mode, and all that stuff, to get me around town. I’m not leaving without it, okay? So I’m trying all the gadgets before I get up out of this place. Okay? So don’t hate me for riding in a Cybertruck.
…It’s huge! I mean, my knee ain’t hurting when [I’m driving]. You can say whatever you want to say about the truck, but I like it, and I’m gonna keep driving it. I’m thinking about getting a Model X.”
Booker T is also holding out hope for flying cars in his lifetime.
“I was the first one, one of the boys, to have a GPS on the road. I’m serious. So my thing is, if it’s something that’s future-related, if I can get a car that can fly before I get up out of here, I’m getting one. I’m serious!”
