The Dallas Cowboys may be without KaVontae Turpin on Sunday against the New York Jets.
As the team returned to practice on Wednesday reports from the grounds at The Star were that Turpin was absent from the portion open to reporters. Shortly after word began to circulate online that Turpin may be absent from this week’s game on the road against the Jets. As noted by the mothership’s Patrik Walker, CeeDee Lamb also remains out obviously.
George Pickens has been stellar for the Cowboys this season, but missing Turpin would remove a serious dimension of the team and make the state of WR2 even shakier. Jalen Tolbert and Ryan Flournoy each had big moments during Sunday’s tie against Green Bay and will seemingly be asked to have more of them.
It is worth noting that Brian Schottenheimer said on Wednesday morning that Dallas is opening the 21-day practice windows for Jonathan Mingo and Caelen Carson (both were placed on injured reserve before the season began), but it seems impractical to expect Mingo back right away.
This is certainly something to monitor as we move through the week.
