The Colorado Buffaloes and the nightcap spot are evidently a match made in heaven for TV networks, as ESPN has decided to broadcast CU’s upcoming Week Four game against Wyoming at 8:15 p.m. local time.
The Buffaloes are no strangers to the late slot, as three of their six home games kicked off at 8:15 p.m. in 2024. Following this announcement, CU currently has two late slot games on the books, with
Wyoming next weekend and BYU the following week.
Fans were optimistic that the Wyoming game would be at a fairly normal time, given that it’s a non-conference matchup against a Mountain West opponent with low expectations, but ESPN doesn’t seem to mind. Even with Heisman Trophy-winner Travis Hunter and Unitas Golden Arm Trophy-winner Shedeur Sanders gone to the NFL, this kickoff time proves that the Buffs are still a big pull nationally.
We’ll have to wait two weeks for the Wyoming game, as the Buffs have their Big 12 opener against the Houston Cougars this Friday, but we at least now know to bring your hoodie and a stocking cap to the game when the ‘Pokes come to town.
