With the 105th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Chargers select speedy wide receiver Brennen Thompson out of Mississippi State University.
The 5’9, 167-pound Thompson sure is small by NFL standards, but you simply cannot coach the 4.26 40 time he ran at this year’s combine. That speed helped him lead the SEC with 1,054 receiving yards to go with 57 receptions ands seven total touchdowns (one rushing score). For his career, Thompson averages 39.8 yards per
touchdown reception, showing you just how explosive he can be for an offense.
This is 100 percent a pick for Mike McDaniel to use to create the level of explosiveness he wants to see from his offense. Thompson has the jets to simply run away from defenders, whether vertically or horizontally. His threat alone should open things up for guys like Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston in 2026.
