The Tigers are heading to San Marcos, Texas, for their final tournament of the fall season.
They’ll compete Oct. 18-19 at the Jim West Challenge hosted by Texas State University at the scenic Kissing Tree Golf Club.
Play will begin at 8:30 a.m. Central time with a shotgun start. Golfers will play 36 holes on Sunday and 18 on Monday on the par-72 course.
The team
The Mizzou roster includes fifth-years Addie Dobson and Melanie Walker, junior Alexandra Berglund, sophomore Addie Surber and senior Fleur van Beek.
Sophomore Grace Crawford will compete as an individual.
Dobson is coming off an eighth-place finish last week at the Illini Women’s Invitational where she finished seven under par.
Walker and Berglund both placed in the top 20 last week, in 14th and 17th places, respectively.
For most of the Mizzou roster, this tournament marks the end of a long stretch of competition.
“It’s been three tournaments now back-to-back, so I can see on the girls that they are a little bit more tired,” head coach Caroline Westrup Gaeta said.
On the bright side, the team flew on a private plane to Texas, so they had a slightly more restful travel day.
The competition
The last time Mizzou competed at the Jim West Challenge was in 2022, Westrup Gaeta’s first year at Mizzou.
Seven of the eleven teams are returning from last year, including three golfers who placed in the top 15.
Of the returning teams, TCU is one of strongest competitors. It won the 2024 tournament with a 22-under team score and placed fifth at the 2025 tournament. TCU’s Kirstin Angosta took first at the 2024 Jim West Challenge, and Camille Min-Gaultier has tied for second and seventh the past two years. Both will be competing Sunday and will be a threat to a Mizzou title.
