Harry Kane talked about Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho’s impact on the player in his quest to eventually be the Ballon d’Or winner in 2026. In a recent interview, he was talking about Mourinho, and how the Portuguese manager was able to help him in a bunch of different ways. He said, on his conversation with Mourinho — which was also shown on the All or Nothing series — saying: “Yeah, I remember it well. It got spoken about a lot because I said I wanted to be on Ronaldo and Messi’s level and he said that
he could help with that, and he did.”
Kane then went on to talk about the number of ways in which he was able to help him. He said: “José was great. He developed my game in a different way, he gave me a lot of freedom, he allowed me to exploit all my qualities.
He definitely made his stamp on me. I respected him so much. His personality, his demeanour… I respected the way he went about his business and the way he showed that. I learned a lot from him.”
Lastly, he also credited the manager for congratulating the Englishman on his biggest ever individual victory.
He said: “He actually sent me a congratulations message and just said ‘Well done’.”
