Serge Gnabry believes Bayern Munich can take confidence from their 2-2 draw with Arsenal, even though the German champions were left frustrated after conceding a late equalizer.
Bayern appeared to have taken control after scoring their second goal, but Arsenal fought back to earn a share of the points. Gnabry acknowledged the disappointment while recognizing the quality of the opposition.
“I thought we had them after we scored the second goal, but they managed to equalize. It was a fair result. It was a game
between two top teams. We can live with that,” Gnabry said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
The Bayern attacker also offered his assessment of where Vincent Kompany’s side currently stands in the European pecking order, expressing confidence that Bayern belongs among the continent’s best teams.
“I think we’re among the top. In the end, what matters is the period between February and May. Of course, we have to put ourselves in a good position by finishing in the top 8, and then we’ll see.”
Gnabry’s comments highlight Bayern’s bigger objective this season. Performing well during the league phase is important, but the ultimate test will come in the knockout rounds, when the biggest trophies are decided.
Bayern have shown they can compete with Europe’s elite. Now, the challenge is to turn that potential into results when it matters most.
