There are plenty of candidates across Bayern Munich’s squad, making this one of the more intriguing storylines heading into the new campaign.
Can Lennart Karl build on the flashes of brilliance he showed and establish himself as a regular first-team contributor? Many believe he has the talent to become the club’s next homegrown star.
Will Jamal Musiala return to his very best after an injury-hit spell? A fully fit Musiala changes the ceiling of this team and could remind everyone why he is considered
one of the world’s elite attacking midfielders. Likewise, Alphonso Davies will be looking to rediscover the explosive form that made him one of football’s premier left-backs after battling injuries of his own.
Among the new signings, Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari both have major opportunities to make an immediate impact. Brown could push for consistent minutes on the left side, while Saibari has the quality to become an important creative outlet.
Meanwhile, Tom Bischof enters the season looking to cement his place in Bayern Munich’s midfield rotation after getting his first taste of the first team. Another strong preseason has only increased expectations that he can become a regular contributor.
Then there is Jonas Urbig. Whether he features regularly or continues developing behind Manuel Neuer, every appearance will be another chance to show that he is the club’s long-term answer between the sticks.
With so much young talent and several players returning from injury, Bayern Munich could see multiple breakout campaigns this season.
Who are you backing to make the biggest leap in 2026/27, and why?
