It’s not often that Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst speaks to the media. Last year, he held one of his few media obligations, his end-of-year press conference, on January 17th. Obviously, this year’s edition has been pushed weeks later, in part because the team only officially announced his extension (along with the extension of head coach Matt LaFleur and vice president/director of football operations Russ Ball) on January 30th.
According to several members of the Packers’ beat,
Gutekunst will hold his end-of-year presser for the 2025 season on Wednesday, February 5th, at 12:20 pm CT. It’ll be the first time that Gutekunst has taken questions from the media since his post-Micah Parsons trade press conference. With an early bye week (Week 5) this year, Gutekunst didn’t have his usual bye week presser in 2025. The Packers also didn’t make a trade at the trade deadline, so he didn’t have a press conference then, either. Usually, those are his only regular in-season pressers.
For fun, drop questions you’d want answered in the press conference.
Here are a couple that came to mind:
- Will you be running a 3-4 defense or a 4-3 defense under Jonathan Gannon?
- What do you think of the big-ticket 2025 free agent signings of Aaron Banks and Nate Hobbs one year into their four-year contracts?
- Do you think the cornerback room needs a talent infusion in 2026?
I think those questions would give fans the best feel for the direction that the team will be heading in the 2026 offseason.
