After dropping the first game of the series last night 3-2, the Athletics hope to rebound today against the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, Washington. The A’s still sit in last place in the American League West, while the Mariners are just two games behind the Astros in second place in the division.
Jeffrey Springs will take the mound tonight against a tough Mariners lineup. He’s currently 10-8 on the season with a 4.28 ERA. His last two starts have not gone well, lasting just 3+ and
4+ innings. We’ll need a stronger outing by the lefty Springs in order to bounce back in this series. He’ll go up against 27-year-old righty George Kirby tonight. He is 8-6 with a 4.22 ERA since getting his first start of the season on May 22.
